amount / base = percent

let

15 = amount

150 = base

Divide 15 by 150 to get the decimal

15 / 150 = 0.1

Multiply 100 times the decimal and attact the % symbol.

100 x 0.1 = 10 %

15 is 10 % of 150

I have this all written out at my website. It is done using a very easy triangle. Once you see the triangle you will be able to answer all 3 types of % problems. Take a look.
When you get to the page scroll down it's near the bottom.

The line across the triangles is a dividing line. Take a minute and see how the triangles work. Once you see, you'll never forget.
