reinstalled XP, im trying to get an internet conection but the problem im having with that is it says I need a driver for the ethernet controller! I have an emachines 3240, any ides on where I can download the driver

thanks to all answers, they didnt have anything on the actual emachines website, managed to find it from a different site, took ages to find tho lol. Going to leave answers for someone to choose as all wer relativly the same, thanks for you help

You may need to use a friend's computer and download the driver to a Floppy or Jump-Drive.
Also, check if you have a Support Floppy or CD that came with the computer, it would have the Driver on it.

I had an similar situation after I were given rid of vista. discover out the maker and sort of the motherboard. it will be printed on the m.b. and use yet another computing device to receive them and positioned them on a cdr or a thumbdrive. Mine became an HP and they were no help all. All they'd became vista drivers.

ok, you have to go to you ethernet controller property and try to roll back a driver, you have to have Windows XP Cd in your machine. if that won't you need to download a driver from emachines web site.

go to e-machines site, look for support, and drivers. download the driver for the ethernet card and install it on the computer that needs it
