i am sure it is devestating to lose all your material possesions, but the total loss of your sanity, emotional stability and security that goes along with te loss of a loved one or all your material possesions is where the term "lose everything" comes from. when you feel hollow inside, like you are nothing, mean nothing will never be anything, that is what it really means.

If it's only material possessions, it really wouldn't be that big of a deal to me - aside from the obvious pictures and journals. As long as I have my family I still have everything that really counts.
I think my biggest concern would be the fear and sorrow of those around me. So many people would be devastated. As for me, I have family I could stay with until the insurance money came through and we could just rebuild. Others wouldn't be so lucky and would indeed feel like they had lost everything.
If I had lost my family -- oh heaven, just take me now.

Haven't felt that yet but I live right inside Tornado Alley so you know why I'm thinking about Kansas this morning. Hurts to watch. I have too many dogs to grab. They would be lost. I'm pretty doggie. Otherwise, if everything goes, little house on the prairie, baby pictures, parrots, memories and all, I am just going to stand there and go with it. (I know I'm shallow.) I'd much rather see Jesus than what those people are looking at this morning.

Well everyone deserves somewhere to live and a bed to sleep in. The lifelong momentos can be replaced. The only thing that can't be brought back are the lives of those who were killed.

I haven't lost everything until my husband, child and irreplacable family pictures are gone. Otherwise, I've just lost all my stuff.

we take each day for granted, not with intent, but we just get used to "OUR" things. then when you least expect it, your world as you know it gets turned upside down, but with faith as a foundation, we seem to be able to pick ourselves back up, and start anew, with a little more appreciation.
