When buying a magazine, does it matter to you weather or not the pages are smooth and glossy or not? If yes, why?

no it does not matter to me..i have glossy, semi glossy and matte finished mags..i also look at what is being presented in a magazine for ex in TIME or Newsweek I look at what is going on around the world not how Jennifer Aniston did her hair and what ridiculous priced accesories she is wearing..i hate glossy mags a lot because on their covers they have Paris Hilton as young girls role model-the person who gets pulled over one too many times and is running out of excuses and i am glad that she is going to jail!also some informative mags can be colorful adn yes they might have good info like Self and Shape or National geographic..glossy does not mean high quality info -it can mean a mag with a famous star on the cover and a list of how to's

No it doesn't matter. The content is most important. I'd like to know I'm going to get some good or at least interesting information and pictures, vs, what it's made of.

However, as far as preference in page-turning, look/feel. I prefer a medium like most magazines tend to be. Glossy pages like Elle's for example - are nice for what the magazine is worth . . . photos and fashion. Matte pages, remind me of teen and pre-teen magazines like BOP or Tiger Beat . . . but I promise you I won't care if the contents are on point.

i like glossy because i can turn those pages better. i know it's weird but it's true. plus, mags are so expensive for what they are, that glossy makes me feel like it was worth the buy. so silly.
