Thorgirl....you should know that the DowJones average means absolutely nothing when it comes to the strength of our economy. Companies are rotated in and out monthly to "up" the average. So it is flawed from the very begining.
America has nearly quadrupled it's money supply over the last 8 years. Paper money holds NO real value. And when you keep pumping more worthless paper into an already bankrupt system it is only a bandage on the problem. Sooner or later the debt is going to catch up with this country. We are some 8 trillion dollars in debt as of this minute. How exactly does this bode well for the American worker? What relevance do you think the DowJones has when it comes to this massive amount of debt that we have accrued since Bush took office?
WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO PAY BACK THE DEBT THAT THIS PRESIDENT HAS RAN UP? IT CERTAINLY WON'T BE THE WEALTHY, THEY GOT THEIR TAX CUTS. MIDDLE AMERICA AND THE POOR ARE THE ONES FOOTING THE BILL FOR THIS.
Sure the unemployment rate is only 4.3%, but how many of these jobs being generated give folks the means to live debt free? When was the last time you heard that someone could live a plentiful life making $8.00 an hour?
This country is on the verge of another great depression because of our excess spending and the amount of money being printed. You are about to see the middle class citizen completely eradicated. But hey, our economy is GREAT! Our dollar is becoming worthless because there isn't enough gold and silver to back it up. Why do you think so many countries want to start trading oil in Euros? Get a frickin clue.

George Bush is one of the few presidents who come from an aristocratic family. Most presidents of the USA rose to prominence from humble beginnings.
When a person aspires to president of the USA from a humble start, that person has done so on the merit of his wisdom, leadership, and understanding of what it takes to succeed in the land of opportunity.
A person who is mediocre at best and comes from a family of wealth, as does GWB, does not have the same mettle as a self made man. Everything GWB has accomplished was handed to him on a silver platter. GWB would never have risen to president of the USA on his own merit.
I hope we have at the least learn a lesson on who to choose as president.

Some think it's fetal alcohol syndrome.
When poor kids are born with it, it's not a huge problem beyond the immediate family. When a "silver spoon" child is born with it, and his dad gives him businesses and countries to run, it affects us all.
