Exactly that, contusion is another word for bruise. I assume you were involved in an incident where you sustained a head injury. Take care over the next few WEEKS, avoid additional bumps if possible, and look out for nausea, headaches, visual disturbances of conscious level fluctuations. Should any of these symptoms occur seek medical advice again quickly!

If a brain contusion, then yes, basically. A contusion could be anywhere though.

I was thinking about this a little more though, and a concussion conventionally is used for a bruised brain. If you have a head injury, and they just said "contusion" without a specific reference to the brain, then it probably means your head is bruised, not your brain.

No. A concussion is where the brain has been bruised. A contusion is just an ordinary bruise anywhere on the body.

contusion means bruised, if you had a brain injury and they said you had a contusion of the brai then yes it was bruised,

a contusion is a bruise in your brain. if you have one and it has not been treated you could suffer irreversible damage. the clotting that comes from the bruise could break loose and cause a stroke or worse death. i am not a doctor and i do not claim to know everything. but i do know that anything having to do with the brain rather it is minor or major is nothing to play with.
