Haven't you heard, the debate is over? We have the fossils. Most fossil intermediates in vertebrate evolution have indeed been found. A clear line of fossils now traces the transition between whales and hoofed mammals, between reptiles and mammals, between dinosaurs and birds, between apes and humans. The fossil evidence of evolution between major forms is compelling.

I find it interesting that people answering your question refer you to the Bible as if this book has the answers! It doesn't.
It is a collection of suppositions translated into English. Jesus Christ did not speak English and yet people insist you read English texts. Much of the translations are incorrect if you read the stories in any other language that is used in the Middle East.

It is also interesting that some refer to man's creation as being the work of God. What God? More supposition, and yet it is said as if it is the truth. If it was the truth then we would not need to keep asking the same questions. There is no answer that is conclusive as to the reason or the source of Man's existence and certainly not from a book that speaks of stories that was originally passed on by word of mouth. We all should know that stories are embellished and distorted as time passes. Many of the so called biblical texts have been embellished and changed with time and the difficulty with translating . I bet few of the Bible pushers have ever researched Mythraism or even know the first thing about it. But strangely it tells the same stories as the Bible and was practiced about 200 years before Christ was born. A Mythra was built over but remains intact in St Pauls basilica in Rome The Vatican restricts access to those not of Vatican priviledge. Possibly because it shows that todays religions are fraudulent.

Unfortunately for those who like the easy approach, evolution is fact. While the incredible ramifications of nature's wonder are often slandered by reducing them to "we came from apes??!!", the more we study the more we understand of an amazing story that goes back hundreds of millions of years, involving very gradual change through the process of natural selection (which, by the way, is the OPPOSITE of 'chance').

Darwin realised that natural selection guides nature and created the natural world, but he could never have guessed that the amazing discoveries we would make later to prove how this happens- through genetics.

Those who take the Bible literally, who are really just religious radicals from both Christianity and Islam, really have problems dealing with the facts: like, that dinosaurs existed, millions of years ago. Or, that Noah had to get hundreds of thousands of animals and their food onto the ark, without, for instance, the tigers killing the antelope. He also had to get kangaroos and penguins and other animals that hadn't been discovered then. And of course the Bible requires a talking snake.

It's a nice folk tale, and full of wisdom- but to take the Bible literally, especially on matters of science where the church has such a long track record of foolishness, is very misguided and deficient.

Actually the Theory of Evolution suggests a common ancestor for Humans and Primates - - - not that people descended from Apes but simply that both shared a common ancestor Personally I am inclined to believe evolution more than the idea of a bored super-being creating humankind just for the heck of it.

Peace....

Your question re-written:

Did God make people or are we descended from monkeys?

Study theology (the study of God) in the Bible, Adrian, and find Jesus His son and then you will ready for anything. Study English too since you will find there are lots of Christian texts in English to improve your knowledge of God. Good question.

we did not come from monkeys, no serious biologist thinks we do, just the common ancestor theory.

Personally, I believe G-d made man by breathing a soul into the animal evolution, with his guidance, created.
