May 6-12 is National Nurses Week. There is a big shortage of nurses these days. I'm going to make an effort to stop by hospitals in our city and thank those who give so much care. Will you join me?

Yeah, I will join you. I used to be a CNA- Certified Nurses Aide, and I worked in a Nursing Home for 5 years. I do remember it was hard on us at times trying to keep a good nurse that actually cared about something in the facility. And also, it's a really good feeling when people come in and want to show their appreciation.

Actually, there's a nursing program at the technical college I work at, so maybe I'll skip the hospital road trip and take the closer to home route instead. Thanks for this post, though. I wouldn't have known I needed to do anything at all! (Heck, my secret pal at work is the head of the nursing program. Won't SHE be surprised to get a little happy this week?)

70% of the nurses in our local hospital couldn't give a damn about their patients. They're rude, arrogant and won't give you the time of day. I've met some lovely nurses who are a credit to their profession, but unfortunately, they're few and far between. This is just my local I'm talking about, but most people around here have the same opinion

I would If I could but you know why there is a shortage of nurses? Nurses are looked down upon and doctors get allt he glory and treat the nurses like ****. Nurses are not appreciated like they should be. Who wants to underappreciated and treated like crap. No one ever tells the nurse thankyou Bless you for going around thanking nurses. They will appreciate it.

That is such a great thing to do. We don't have a hospital here in Hickville but we have a nursing home and I have some friends so I will definately thank them. Thanks for the heads up.
