"To thine own self be true" is a fameous quote from a Shakespeare play, I think it was Hamlet. Be yourself, don't try to please others unless you really share the same opinion as them. You will command more respect from others, and it will actually attract more people to you because you have a solid foundation of leadership; you can stand on your own.

You have to keep in mind that you are not on Earth to please everyone. No one can please everyone. You need to do things that make you happy be that if it is watching your favorite TV show or having a cute pet.

Also I have to say a thing about the "popular" crowd. It is not what it is all cracked up to be. You can do many things just to fit in but if you are really not happy and if you are not comfortable then it is not where you want to be.

Once again do a self inventory and list what makes you happy. You have to make your own happiness whether it is your family or hobbies or both.

True friends would love you no matter what you're "into." If you can't stay friends with them because you're being yourself...you need new friends. You're the only person you need to worry about making happy. If you're more comfortable being a tomboy, then be so.

It's ok to change stuff like that. Just be your honest self and let other people deal with it in their own way.

Life is too short to try and be someone you are not.
Be yourself and be happy.
