for a question yesterday, i did some research about brassieres and found it quite interesting... hence this question. the bra holds more than breasts, it holds a cultural significance that far outweighs that which is normally accorded to an item of clothing. As soon as a girl becomes a woman she should wear a bra. Wearing one shows good breeding and holds status, but wearing one also makes her clothes drape properly, and causes less distraction, and will keep her from sagging for a while longer later in life. I heard bras came into being around 1910. Personally I feel it's difficult to converse with another female who has little respect for herself cause then I lose respect for her too and then find her comments unimportant. What she does in her own home is her own business, but in public she should be adorned properly.

I've always felt that if you don't need the support...why make yourself uncomfortable. I've never worn one in my life. At 52 my "girls" are just as perky as they were when I was 15. But I'm not a big woman. I've maintained a healthy weight even after having 7 kids. Keeping in shape is key.

a woman should wear one in public as a matter of decency, plus does she really want those puppies hanging down to her knees by the time she's 40? most women need the support

It really depends how she's built and what she's wearing otherwise. If she's big on top wearing a t-shirt, it can be kinda gross. If she's smaller and dressed appropriately, no biggie.

I like it, seeing the perky nipples is great, and I can point them out to my husband. He loves them

It really doesn't bother me if I can't notice. If she is heavy chested or I can see her nipples then that is kinda gross and looks rude

Nothing. Why should we have to? Sometimes we want to be comfortable so we don't wear it. Let someone say something to me if I dont wear one!
