Honey you must realise that you were had, good and proper.
But, I am wondering why you keep asking the same type of questions about Nile cruises every week or so.Your profile shows that all you do is ask these similar questions, no answers or other questions on anything different.
If you have relevant questions we are very happy to try to help. But remember asking these questions is not going to ever get your money back.
You would be best to come straight out and name the company involved, and even better, state exactly what it is you are obviously angry about.
I feel it is much deeper than just a 25 pound tip.

I went on a cruise also and we were encouraged to tip just before we checked out, without tipping during the trip. They said that they collect all the tips and split them up between the crew members. They told us to leave it with the front desk, so I'm assuming that's where you'd leave it. But it's very odd that they told you to tip at the beginning of the cruise instead of waiting till the end. Sounds suspicious to me.

Anyways, if you haven't already gone, hope you have a wonderful trip! And remember, don't buy anything from shops by the temples and tombs. The best place to buy, get the best quality, and pay the best prices are at the bazaar in Luxor!

usually the tip in the cruise boat here happen by the end of the trip, at the time of the check out, you go pay your bill, if you have any extra drinks and give tips then. could be about 2 sterling pound per person per night, so you can give in total about 14 or 15 english pound, and there are anther small tip for the baggaest people also paid by end of the trip about 2 sterling pound for check in and check out, this u give it to the people who carry you lagguage,
so u can give 14 for the whole week u give it at the recipection, and about 2 you give it to the people who carry ur bags.

Don't tip at the start. The usual thing is to tip at the end with the money in an envelope.

when going to Egypt your travel agency charges you a sum of money for tips including the Egyptian guide, the coach drivers, the crew on the boat, etc. your guide collects the money and tips everybody so that you don't have to do it. this is how they make it in Egypt.
