Yes it could possibly be labor. At 4 minutes apart, I would be getting ready to put a call into your OB to see what they suggest for you. Good luck and congrats!

Most likely you are, which is normal. Check how long the contractions are lasting at the time. If they are lasting 30 to 40 sec go to hospital even if they are coming every 3,4 or 5 min. Also don't just sit and tense up. Walk around between the contractions. That will hell you have your baby quicker. Also relax and don't tense up when you have the pain.

Maybe. Is this your first pregnancy? You might have a little time to wait, if it is. Call the hospital's ob department, and describe the cramps, or try to time it that you're going through them while you're on the phone. They'll probably want you to come in and check. At 40 weeks, almost any cramps would be something to check out. Bring your bag and be ready~ Good luck~

I would give it awhile and keep timing. It does sound like you may be in the beginning stages of labor but if you can do it at home for awhile then do that. The hospital seems to make it more uncomfortable and those beds are not as comfy as yours. They start poking you and put this giant belt around your belly that hurts like heck every time you have a contraction. If you are not far from hospital I would say keep timing unless they start to hurt really bad.

Not everyone has a hard labor call your dr. or get to the hospital this could be it and they will let you know there. don't wait and have the baby at home or in the car. that could be bad.

If not severe (you can't hold a conversation during real contractions) it's probably braxton hicks. This is a "warm-up" exercise your uterus goes through before labour. If you're worried get some proper advice, not from a bunch of strangers.
