These tragedies are relatively rare. Most of us will live fairly undesturbed lives. But happiness is a bit over the top. We should aim for contenment and learn from the awful things that so often happen to other people.

life is S*** at times and these thing happen, the 6 killed on the motorway is just bad luck, the Police officer shot is a danger of the job, But that poor little Madelaine being abducted while she slept is nothing more than horrendous, and the person who carried out that, should be put in prison for 6 months with other inmates who are fathers and left at there mercy, which i doubt would be much. if he survives that, then should be taken out and hung. Then i would feel there is some justice left in the world.

No we don't live happily ever after! There is so much tragedy going on in the world now. We don't live in a great world at the moment.
LIfe is too short, nobody knows what is around the corner, we need to take what happiness we can get and try to be happy while we can!

only if you are 5 years old and have yet to realise that theres a big bad world out there mind you why were there 7 people in the breakdown truck on the M25

yes we do just think these stories on t.v. and in newspapers are distracting us from real news such as when's the next "big brother"'will William and Kate get back together.
of course we do happily ever after only some stories are real
