Frank Robinson would be the best canidate. He has been a player, manager, union rep, and in the commissioner's office as a diciplinarian. He has seen baseball from both sides, and dealt with players as well as owners. In his 40+ years in the MLB, he has shown himself to be tough, but fair, and I'm sure he would have some good ideas to improve the game.

Frank Robinson would be my choice:

Former player, Hall of Famer, former manager, union rep, league disciplinarian, respected by the players and the fans.

Why would you even consider Al Gore? the man has NO connection to baseball. All he ever did was serve as VP to one of the worst presidents in history.

Joe Morgan is just a blowhard that did nothing worthy of the Hall of Fame. Was every other player dead those seasons he got the MVP?

Most of the other candidates would be good. I think Bunning would be a great choice also. Hall of Famer, respected pitcher, respected Senator. Experience with the mechinations of politics.

All good choices except for the bore Gore. He will give baseball as much excitement as a wet dish rag. The person you have not mentioned who will be the next commissioner is George Mitchell. I must admit, he comes close to Gore in being a bore.
