Note the word "adversity" has a relationship with "adversary", and "adversarial". Adversity is pretty much any condition that is in opposition to where you want to go, what you want to do, who you want to be, etc.....

Forces or events that appear i life and make it harder to do what you want to do.
For example, a man buys a house and has a family. He is trying with all his heart to provide for this family, to keep them feed, clothed and comfortable. Then there is a flood and it ruins his home and all his possessions. His kids get sick and he loses his job, due to the flood has caused his company to go out of business. Now that man is suffering a lot of ADVERSITY!!!!
