My friends are suggesting i go into food business , or put up an internet cafe, but my interest is to go into salon business coz i love it and familiar with it.. . but i really need something that would help me earn well and regularly coz im a single parent.

Internet cafes seem to be losing popularity in the US. I've seen 2 go out of business in the past year in my area. However, coffee shops with free Internet access seem to still be doing OK, and it usually doesn't cost much to set them up (check out your local Starbucks for ideas).

Why not a salon that offers coffee and snacks? If one business doesn't take off, the other might bail you. Get a good business plan and stick to it. Having a dream is one thing but living a dream can be a nightmare. Follow you heart and the money will be there.

Do what YOU enjoy. How about offering salon parties that include snacks and drinks. I've heard of maincure/pedicure pool parties where a group of women get together and have their nails done at a pool party. You could do hair and makeovers for a group at a time.
