I used to be so positive now it seems an effort to get up in the morning. After all, in 100 years no-one will remember anything we have done.

Stop thinking, Start Living

I think you must think positively all the time even if you have a problem with that, and try your best to keep off the negative vibes from others too, people around you if they are negative you get the feeling immediately so try to change the people around you into your possitivity or just get away from their way. When you woke up in the morning think that you will enjoy your time, do all the things you have on mind and treat yourself to a new thing every now and then. Change the way your furniture is put at home, make it look different from time to time. Put things in order and try not to loose faith. There is no harm in saying a little prayer to the Lord every morning to help you regain your energy and love for life. I assure you it helps a lot.

If you feel down about life please, I encourage you to seek help, from a counselor or a ministerial figure. Just talk to someone. Your zeal for life is still there its just finding how to get back to that positive person you once were. Try to think about how much positive you have done for family, friends or strangers passing through your life. You can pull through your depression! Seek happiness and you will find it. I wish you well and good health. Oh yeah, people do remember especially those who you left a positive mark on their hearts. I have people who has passed on that were not relatives, not even friends, just knew them by association, but the have never been forgotten in my heart. You shouldn't worry if the world remembers you, just know all you can do is be the best lover, friend, mother, daughter, etc. that you can possibly be. In the end, the most important being will acknowledge your good deeds.

Hi Rosie
It sounds to me as though something traumatic has recently happened to you and you also don't mention your age - but that isn't really the problem! You need to begin to believe in yourself again and to learn to love life and begin to smile again. Try going to the gym or find something which interests you and join some kind of group associated with your interest or hobby. You don't mention if you have any good friends. If you do, they should support you through your bad times and if you don't then you will soon make new friends by joining an interest group. You really need people around you, family and good friends who can help you live in peace with yourself again. Don't worry about what will happen in the future. You must concentrate on now! You deserve to be happy and I'm sure your positivity will return very soon. Best of luck!

We are all in the same boat but we have to get up every day and go through the motions, you have to remember that we don't know a lot about the people that lived 100 years ago.

The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius once said, "our lives are what our thoughts make it."

Realize that few things are in our power to control. What power do you have over your death, whether someone likes you, whether you get laid off at work? None to little. Can you stop the sun from rising or the wind from blowing? No. So why worry about things you cannot control. Accept them. What you can control is your reaction to events. "Your life is what your thoughts make it."

We hardly ever see the positive results of all that we do for others. We never really see the effect. So we think our actions never have any real, lasting meaning.

But they do.

Like the others said, work out, try to find something to enjoy in each day, and see a doctor if this feeling continues -- you may be depressed. A lot of people have been there.

I have been there.........first of all, I didn't give myself a dead-line. Didn't "push myself" to get back to dating, etc. Rather, I took a "leave of absence," for myself to heal and get over the hurting. In fact, I stopped dating for awhile. Did a lot of reflecting over it all, learned from it and finally did move on. I did seek out God and began a new and fresh experience with Him. Made new friends, etc. Changed jobs. One day, a new friend confronted me with the statement "When was the last time you smiled?" Somehow, that jolted me into getting my life back into focus; I started counting my blessings and realized how much I had to be grateful for, and began helping others. I finally got my eyes off of my problem and in the process, got my own life back together. Everything now is just fine.

Yes perhaps in 100 years no one will remember, but we are alive now. We can choose to make the most of this time we have.
