What was the role of the Gestapo during the time of the Nazi party?

Gestapo means "secret police" they were use to eliminate Hitlers' threats and fear...they were the official secret police of Nazi Germany. Their job was to killed Hitler Germans who oppose Nazism or show any disloyal act which is normally a sabotage by people or caught red handed.

No mali, it was not like the CIA, the Abwehr was similar to the CIA. The Abwehr was the German intelligence gathering agency run by Admiral Wilhelm Canaris. The Gestapo, was the 'Secret State Police' - run by Heinrich Muller, it was a sister organization of the SD, and since all control of the Gestapo was passed over to the SS in 1934, it was also run by Heinrich Himmler.
