4/8 = 8/16 = 2/4 = 1/2 = 50/100 = 200/400 etc
5/6 = 10/12 = 30/36 = 300/360 etc
Like fractions are fractions that can be cancelled down to give the same fraction.
Thus 4/8 and 50/100 are like in that:-
4/8 = 1/2 and 50/100 = 1/2

Like fractions are those which when divided by the same number or you can say when converted into the shortest form you will same results.
for eg 1/2 and 2/4 , 4/8, 5/10, 6/12 etc

25% is the same as 1/4 (one quarter) and 50% is the same as 1/2 (one half). So 1/4 (or 25%) of $500 would be $125 and 3/4 (75%) of $500 would be $375

It is how we show non whole numbers.
e.g. half (50%) = 1/2, three quaters (75%)=3/4, one fifth (20%)=1/5
