I just bought a car and the seller said it has a remote starter but he doesn't know how to work it. It has a Code Alarm CA-425 remote system with a CA-145 remote. I only know how to lock and unlock the doors with the remote.

Well, I couldn't find an owner's manual for the CA-425, and the CA-145 system doesn't include a remote starter. Try pressing and releasing the OPT button on your remote, two times within two seconds.
Otherwise, you can find a Code-Alarm dealer near you and ask them to identify the system and demo it for you. You would probably have to pay them for their time, but it might be worthwhile.
