Does anyone happen to know the history of the song "Who'll come with me"? also known as "David's Song".

Some thirty years ago it was a huge hit in Europe, from a singing Kelly Family and it is quite haunting.

I once heard it was written by a young soldier in WW2 - is that true ? And while we're at it - who wrote the music ?

Thanks in advance !

According to All Music guide, the 1979 #1 hit song was written by Vladimir Cosma and Dan Kelly. Both these two were not in World War II, so the story of the lyrics is not yet clear. Cosma is a former orchestra leader who wrote songs in the 80's for acts like King Harvest and Richard Sanderson.

Emo song, haha. Jk :) i like the refrain plenty. Verse 4 sounds very prevalent nonetheless, lol, I swear i've got heard of a song with especially comparable strains... i can not submit to in suggestions the call of the song off the right of my head! additionally, i'm not sure what the call (daybreak Circle) has to do with the song, it somewhat is sort of random. In finished, i could supply it a 6 or 7 out of 10. desire that facilitates! (Cookie, please?)
