Spend at least one full day in Newport, a half hour or so south of Lincoln City. Go to the lighthouses, the tidepools, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and there are some tourist trap museums too like the Wax Museum (it's rather good) and Ripleys Believe it or not (haven't been there).

Stop in Depot Bay, which is just north of Newport. On stormy days, the "spouting horn" sprays all the way across the highway. It's a fun tiny port .. walk the few blocks on both sides of the highway and enjoy the views and salt air!! (And don't forget your camera!!)

Personally, I don't like Lincoln City, other than the beaches and hotels on the beaches. It's mostly just a shopping experience in the rest of it; though a drive around Devils Lake is well worth the hour or so it takes.

While there, invest in a kite (whatever size and style that fits in your budget) and fly it on the beach!!

There are state parks close to Lincoln City that are very pretty. The beach is nice, and there are a few shops in "town" (antique stores, thrift stores, etc.) that are fun to check out. Lincoln City is basically a depressed town, though, so there's not all that much to do that doesn't involve nature. There are a few bars and the casino, and a couple of good restaurants. There's a pretty good golf course in Depoe Bay, which is not far from Lincoln City. Basically, though, I'd plan to spend a lot of time relaxing and building sand castles. The local chamber of commerce has a Web site that lists events--do a Google search for "lincoln city oregon chamber commerce"

There is a nice outlet mall in Lincoln City. Oregon has no sales tax, so the price you see is the price you pay.

In addition, the coast line is beautiful. I would recommend biking some of the coast road. There are road side pull offs to stop at and enjoy the view.

You are also close to Oregon wineries, so I would recommend some wine tasting if you are of age. I prefer reds, but you should drink what YOU like.

The biggest thing about that part of Oregon is you can either totally relax, or fill evey minute with activity. It is YOUR choice.

Other than hiking or walking on the beach (of course in the rain) there really isn't much to do there.

I'd recommend packing a good book.
