I am trying to send my co worker a file that is about 700mb, however that is about 70 times larger than the maximum yahoo email attachment. I know that I can use winrar to compress this file, but even after doing so it's still to big to add as an attachment.
Does anyone know of an email server that doesn't restrict email attachment size?
If not, does anyone know of another way to get it this file sent? It would almost have to be free though, since I never normally send files or any other attachments of this size .

I send large files like that through aol instant messenger.
In chat window with recipient People>Send File. Cool thing is, if you lose connection, AIM automatically starts where you left off from last, no lost data or starting over.
http://www.aim.com/
This is also possible in most other chat providers software.

Some other answers recommend using websites to upload your file, that wont work. There current isn't a free site you can use that lets you upload a file that is 700mb. You can compress the file with winRAR and break up it and send the peices, but I would still recomend using AIM.

Well you could find a website which allows you to upload the file and then provide him the link to download himself. You could also open e.g a IM (like yahoo messenger etc) and then let him download it off you.
Another possible scenario its to use programs like winrar to break the file into smaller ones and then send via email for example over a period of time.

There are 4 ways to send it - 1) Burn a CD and give it, 2) Copy it in a pen drive, 3) Remove your hard disk and hand it to your friend for time being or if you want to send it via Internet then login to http://www.4shared.com/ and upload your file and once it has been done you will get a link send that link to your friend via email or off line message. Also make sure you will zip the file and then upload it. If you still face problem you are free to contact me.

When you RAR the file tell the WinRAR to split into X files each of X megabytes that suits your upload and email needs
this option is on the left bottom of the winrar compression dialog
for example if you chosen to split into 10 megabytes filesize you will got 70 file each are 10 m.b. the names are file.rar, file.r01, file.r02 ..... file.r70

Could be a problem. Suggest your friend sends you a DVD by international mail. Even if you could find a webserver that would let you post a 4.5GB file it would take forever to upload it.

Use an instant messenger, such as Yahoo! Messenger or Skype to transfer the file. Yahoo allows up to 1GB and Skype is unlimited.

If legal, Email the link so they can download the file themselves.

you can use a zip program like WinZip to break the file up into an archive of smaller files. then email, and have your friend piece it back together.
