If you love seeing other people suffer you're a sadist
If you love suffering yourself you're a masochist

This is medical, not philosophical. When you suffer your body gives out a kind of toxic that sometimes cause joy or andreline to cover the pain. Works the same for seeing others suffer cos your eyes and ears takes in the information instead of your skin and your body reacts to it the same way.
A person desires masochism usually because his/her body gives out more toxic than its supposed to and creates a high estatic effect

To love yourself, you must also love suffering as it forms a part of what defines you as an individual. Suffering is only a bad thing if you let the thought of it bother you. Just say "I am suffering......Its not that bad actually......I kind of like it!"

may be because most of the people doesn't like this job,(may be some people think about them that they are smallish or some thing like that) & may be these people suffer in love because of their shy, they dont show their identity,as you know that most of the people loves because of beauty while some loves because of smartness but as you said that art domain are not ugly.....but i can say they are not attractive towards all the people at the same time they are attractive to some people.almost all the people suffer in love.we should control our self in this ,there should be patience, tolerance in us.there is no mean of life with out love(but i call love between a boy friend &girl friend is as a torment because we cannot find that thing which we want.)

Nietzsche would say that all human beings love suffering, mentally and physically because it spurs them to action. If other people are not inflicting it (war, preaching a fire and brimstone sermon) we will inflict it on ourselves. We'll fall in love with someone who does not reciprocate, worry about what doesn't really need to be worried about etc. In the case of the extremely religious, one might inflict physical as well as mental torture on themselves.

Mankind is the only animal that inflicts suffering on itself and the only species that had to invent reasons to laugh.

Most of us love suffering, sort of. The sad truth is we are full of self-destructive impulses. On a subconscious level, we sometimes have the need to suffer, be it to punish someone who loves us, or to punish our own selves.

i do not love suffering, but i do need a little sadness going on sometimes to feel inspired...i also need it to be in my space, meaning, politics, humanity, etc....can have me down sometimes, but it is soooo large that i feel numb rather than inspired.....my husband and i have never been in a fight in the 8 years we have been together, and i am missing the sad drama of a good fight.....i told him to cheat on me or something....for crying out loud.....he won't do it.....so, i will continue to be uninspired and feel as though there is something missing
