the soundtrack to TITANIC used to work really well for me, you can program the best songs from it, then hit repeat. You don't have to include the "My heart will go on" song- there are a lot of good instrumentals on there. Very soothing. Also, another thing I use is a cd with only the sound of RAIN. SOOO nice and relaxing. It has some thunder storm sounds too. One more thing I do is sleep with a fan going. It makes a "white noise", that blocks out all sounds, and just makes you fall into your bed, and sleep peacefully for hours. OR get a white noise maching, or cd's. Hope this helps!! As you can see, I had the same problem, but found many alternatives, and have been sleeping soundly for years!!

You might try the pianist Glenn Gould's recording of the classical "The Goldberg Variations," by J.S. Bach, which were once thought to have been written for Count Hermann Karl von Keyserlingk to help him fall asleep. Perhaps, too, you can find a CD of lullabies, which is music to do the same thing for babies and small children, for they are songs that sound "familiar" and lull the child to sleep. An excellent one is "A Child's Gift of Lullabyes." You might also try an older CD by singer Enya or any of hundreds of mellow "New Age" compilations. If you are able to burn your own CDs, you could compile a collection of the more mellow tunes by the great 1970s duo Carpenters. Some excellent choices of theirs would be "Crescent Noon," "Crystal Lullaby," "Aurora," "Eventide," "I Can Dream, Can't I," "Sometimes," and the instrumental, "Heather." In a pinch, you can turn your radio dial to static, turn it down, and relax as if you were by a stream. I know how sleep difficulties can be troublesome, so best of luck to you! Frederic Kahler

Sigur Ros is great to calm your mind and help you drift off. Another artist is Damien Rice, his songs are so amazingly calming peaceful...especially anything off his album O.
