OK...since I'm not sure if you took your ferret to a vet yet, I'm going to talk to you as if you have not.

First...are you sure this is a tumor? There are diseases related to the early spaying of female ferrets that cause swelling of the genitalia and/or swollen lumps and bumps around that area. It may or may not be cancer but the only way to know is to visit a vet.

If you did visit a vet and know for certain it is a tumor do you remember if it is cancerous or not? Is it a tumor that can be removed via an operation?

I don't know how much money you have in your budget to "save" you ferret. I would assume if you cannot afford it or if the vet told you there is nothing you can do you will have to eventually think about euthanasia. Here is the thing...if you know she is going to die, then that is what is going to happen -- she will die. There is no sense letting her suffer in any way when you can finalize the outcome earlier. If there is nothing else you can do to help your little fuzz butt, as soon as she starts showing signs of suffering, take her back to the vet.

I wish the best!

Has she been to a vet? Perhaps the tumor can be removed.

Making 'the' decision is the most agonizing thing that pet owners go through. It comes down to quality of life. When she can't eat, if she's miserable, if she's in pain...then it's time. As long as you thinks she's getting some enjoyment out of life, then try to enjoy her too.

Good luck.
