Why is it that women always want a man who is employed? Let's just say that I choose not to be employed . I am financially sound ,and need not really work again for money. Let's again say that I am comfortable with managing the home ,and that will keep me happy . I will continue to be the 'breadwinner' ,and the girl's contribution is not needed.
What do you girls think ?

My brother stays at home with my two nephews and his wife works. This is how they planned it. He is more of the domestic type and she is career oriented. It is a partnership and in this generation it is perfectly acceptable for men to stay home. Obviously the couple needs to both agree on this or there will be problems eventually if not right away. Everyone is different and has expectations and wants and needs to feel secure and fulfilled. Finding the perfect person who shares the same values, lifestyle choices and dreams that you do it key and the ultimate gift.

The problem is with the general perception that a male should work and earn for the family. That is the first part of the problem and could be ignored as such. But the second and the vitla part is the fact that an 'idle brain is devils' workshop' and that is where doing nothing would 'fail' you. A male homemaker is not a very good idea, either.

What I suggest is that you should do something for a social cause. It could be honorary and instead you may contribute from your own coffers. You could even think about starting a trust or charity. The basic purpose is to feel that you are contributing to the larger welfare of the society & human race...

I hope you understand...

So you make money from investments or whatever, and the woman wouldn't need to work? A lot of women would think that's ideal. Just make sure you can afford a nice enough lifestyle -- if you're always pennypinching, she won't like it. But if you can afford to stay home with a couple of kids, in a nice enough home, why not? A lot of women would consider that ideal, so long as it's not a trailer home to cut expenses.

Why not? If money is not an issue then you have handled one of the biggest augment generator in the relationship.

I would be surprised if a lot of women did not go for this. At least your are willing to help around the house.

24carat I simply loved your question.

One can see how the Ladies not Indian have responded. This is what we talk of man and women being equal.

Unlike the Indian Ladies who are only materialistic. They think only they need to be cared for not the man!! They want men to be working so that incase the marriage fails they can claim alimony and maintenance.
