I plan on proposing to my girlfriend and she hates diamonds (lucky me). She also hates gold. Her favorite color is green so I thought I would give her an emerald ring w/ a white gold band. I really do not want to spend more than $1100. I'd also perfer to look on-line first before I go out and hit the jewelry stores (unless anybody knows an awesome jewelry store somewhere around Kennesaw, Ga). Whats a good reputable website I could go to that won't try to rip me off like a guy on the street? Also, is the price I am looking for (no more than $1100) resonable enough to get a decent ring?

You can contact the company & ask if they will make an emerald ring w/o diamond accents.

I've shopped through bluenile.com & it is great. I tried it because my friend who's in the wholesale jewelry business told me they have high standards & extremely competitive prices.

be careful..emerald stones are generally treated..they are oiled....because they all have cracks in them...
even the most expensive ones.
that is why you never clean an emerald with any harsh products..you destroy the oil treatment in the stone.
i don't think you should buy one on line..
you really need to see the stone and hold it up to the light..
you also need to have a gemological certificate..giving the data about the stone you purchase.
look for a dark green stone with clarity.
go to a good jewellery store in your area.
