I suggest you find a nice quiet place to meditate on this, as I have found that the best way of obtaining answers like yours.. I don't think a person has ONE guardian angel. You can be your own guardian. A deceased family member or pet can be your guardian.

I got the name "Raphael"
a good way to meet your guides is to do a guided meditation, you can buy cds at most new age shops, I personally like the one by John Edward,
the book 'Opening To Channel' by Sanaya Roman is also very good
