The Bellagio is extra super nice and that is a great price for a room there. Of course rates vary by season here, but Bellagio averages about $300 per night and can often be quite a bit more. I've seen rates as low as $169 there, but that's in the dead of summer and around Christmas time.

The hotel features an exquisite atrium garden, a fantastic water fountain show graces the lake in front of the hotel, and even their lobby is considered an "attraction". It is also home to Cirque du Soleil's "O", one of the most impressive production shows ever. Bellagio has a great pool area, a nifty little art gallery, Light nightclub, plenty of yummy restaurants, and a small posh shopping mall that I could never afford to shop at in a million years... but it's still fun to look =).

The location is perfect, right in the middle of the Strip. You'll be walking distance to several properties that are worth a visit, including Paris, Caesar's, Mirage, Venetian, and the newly redone Planet Hollywood (formerly Aladdin).

In case you don't already have it, here is the link to the hotel's website:

And here is a link to a map of the strip:

(For perspective, it's about five miles from Mandalay Bay on the south end to the Stratosphere on the north end.)

I have stayed at Bellagio and I like the hotel very much. I liked the room we had at Ceasers much better, but it was a good room. It has good amenities and is in a great location to visit all of the other attractions. It, along with Ceasers , Mandalay Bay, the Wynn, and the Venitian are the top rated hotels on the strip. As a players club member I have been getting offers for $149.00 per night but have not been able to find 3 or 4 nights consecutive at that rate to go. So as a first time visitor that's an OK rate for Bellagio. Bear in mind that you are staying at the top hotel so you will pay a premium rate. Other strip hotels at that time may be offering rooms at $100 to $150. You get what you pay for.

The MGM would be more for kids. It's a huge hotel and there's a lot of walking to get to your room. It does have a nice pool, however. But the Bellagio is WAY nicer and classier too and I much prefer the central location of the Bellagio to the MGM's very southernly location.

The Bellagio is one of the top hotels to stay in, so you are not going to get any better as far as quality of your room and service that they provide. But you can stay at other places for less money, and the room are nice to stay in. I would say the luxor is a nice place to stay for less money, and you are still on the strip. But the mgm, mirage, the wynn, are the more expensive, but high class casino hotels to stay in.

Sounds like a pretty good deal.
The prices depend on what time you go if you're there on new year's eve it's gonna be more so see what's going on the days you'll be there.
