Find out when your courthouse or DMV gives the permit test & take her to get her permit. Most kids love that if she hasn't been studying for it tell her to study & you will take her to get her permit & pay for it, take her to lunch before or after & maybe go shopping if you can afford to go shopping., if not just spend the day together. Give her a made up certificate, if you have to wait until after her birthday, cause she can't get her permit until she is 15. Gift certificates might be your best bet that way she can get what she wants when you take her shopping.

If she likes makeup and has been worn it before then don't buy her makeup because chances are she already has a brand & color she likes, so you'll probably get her the "wrong type." If she hasn't already experimented with makeup then she might not be interested, so it would be safer to get her something less intimidating, such as an at home manicure kit and a few bottles of nail polish. If she is a social butterfly who doesn't already have a cell phone with unlimited texting, then that would be a great gift, but keep it safe and talk to the store rep about parental controls for cell phones. If you live in a city with alot of museums, a zoo, etc.. then a weekend bus pass for her and her friends to run around town and shop or visit art galleries might be a fun adventure. New clothes are usually a plus, but you don't want to get the wrong size/style/etc.. so best bet is to give a gift card. If you want something more personal than a gift card, you can pick something out for her, but hold onto the reciept incase she wants/needs to return it. I'm not a fan of giving teenagers their own laptops unless you feel it would make school work easier to complete, and if you give her a laptop, make sure to put parental controls on it for her own protection, at least for the next 1-2 years. The gift I would have most appreciated at 15 was time with my parents without arguing so a mother-daughter spa day or a father-daughter day at the water park, if thats possible, would be fantastic.

Get her a $$$$$ gift card from her favorite shopping place. Have it wrapped in a bigggg box. Add a rock if necessary for weight. Then she can have all the party fun of opening a large present and ending up with just the right thing too. Good luck
