It really depends on your mood and what you like to watch.
Romantic comedy: "Harold & Maude" is a riot that most people have missed. Other good choices in this catagory (overlooked) are "A Fish Called Wanda," "Addicted To Love," and "Doc Hollywood."
Music: "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" is an incredible documentary about the band that recorded more #1 hits than the Beatles, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys combined! Their story is laced with interviews of the surviving band members and performances by them with some of today's most tallented singers.
Another good film for music lovers is "Festival Express." The plan was brilliant-get a privately chartered train, fill it with some of the biggest names in rock-n-roll (Janis Joplin, The Band, The Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy's Blues Band, etc) and do a series of concerts across Canada. The promoter had the foresight to film the concerts and jam sessions on board the train, but lost his shirt. The film footage was left rotting for 30 years before being retored to the best possible condition. The footage of Janis Joplin singing "Cry Baby" alone is worth buying this movie.
Comedy: "Caddyshack" a classic.
Action: "House Of Flying Daggers" is beatiful and the English language track is pretty good, if you don't want to read subtitles.

well if you have a dvd or vcr, just about anything. i would suggest a comedy if ur gonna be up for a while or something you have seen a million times if you want to go to sleep soon. personally i find that "eight legged freaks" is a good (if not B-rated) movie, and having seen it a million times it does wonders aftera stressful day. it stars david arquette. really lame, but good story line.

I'd suggest Donnie Darko or maybe something fun like Sixteen Candles.
