when will clamperl evolve?

u need to make ur Clamperl hold the DeepSeaTooth and then trade it....only then it will evolve......just like how u get Kingdra

To have your clamperl you need to have it old deepseatooth and then trade it. An easy way to make it evolve is to go to the GTS in Jublife and put the pokemon you want to evolve up for offer. Then make a different trade while it's still up for offer, and then take it back. It should evolve

there are many pokemon that can evolve at any level. clamperl is an example - both my huntail and my gorebyss are level 6

in order to evolve a clamperl into a huntail, you'd need to allow it to hold the deepseatooth as you already have, and then trade it to another person, and have them trade it back to you

this type of "trade" evolution has always been a part of pokemon, starting with the original games, red/blue (red/green jp) where you could only get golem, alakazam, machamp, and gengar if you traded

gold/silver/ crystal introduced trade evolutions dependant on items held, such as kingdra (dragonscale held by seadra), slowking (slopoke holding kings rock), steelix (onix holding metal coat), and scizor (scyther holding metal coat)

yeah, when you have a dive and surf go to the broken boat (I think its between slateport and dewford) then find the scanner there, after finding the scanner, give it to captain in slateport (he's in the port, where the new ship is) then he will let you pick from deepseatooth and deepseascale I think, then if you picked one, give it to clampearl then let him level up until he evolves, if deepseatooth is equipped clampearl will be huntail and the deepseascale will be gori something, but its clampearl's evolve, you can only pick one

you have to trade it now.. after the trade it should evolve.. then you can get it back..
