I paint on construction sites and have many male friends. My pay is equal now after 8 hard years. My only obstacles were men who had bad experiences with bad women.

Where in there did I say I was superior to anyone? If we cannot tell our stories and share ideas things move forward much slower.

There is nothing wrong with asserting Yourself, be it as a Feminist striving to attain equality of wage and lifestyle, or as an individual going through the daily mechanics of life. It is Your right to express Your opinions and to tell others of Your experiences. Remember that good advice is normally based upon the experience that comes from a bad choice made prior to learning a lesson about Life. By all means impart Your experiences of how to achieve equal employment conditions to others. Why shouldn't they benefit from Your hard earned knowledge? If it is 'feminist' to help others, then I say, more power to You. Don't worry too much about those who try to put You down for Your actions. They have their own agenda to worry about. Cheers.

Just because you're a female working in a male dominanted profession, doesn't make you a feminist. I hate that word feminist. Since women have had to come in the workforce to keep up with the rising cost of living, they coined the word feminist. I was the only female night time cab driver in one town and it was rough. I had to fight for a long time to get the guys to respect what I did. I was proud that I stood up to their intimidation and crap they would give me. It showed that I had the balls to do what they did and not act like a little girl. It took about 8 months, but they started to come around to my way of thinking. When I pulled down more fares than the boys and without help from them, they really didn't have anymore to say. Standing up for your rights as a worker is all you are doing and nothing less.

a lot of women work their backs off trying to get an equal pay, the same respect and recognition as men do. does that make u a feminist --yes.
but i think ur problem is not trying to get the equal pay or the recognition -- it is trying to tell the other women they r inferior. u see urself as a role model that they shud look up to, and they r not. if u think that since u have been more successful in dealing with the men, you have been lucky.

women have to work in adverse circumstances, face harrasment, and still work. if they have not been as lucky as you, is coz they have have had bad experiences working with men who are responsible for their bad experiences.

but, u r evidently not a feminist. feminists are intelligent, thinking and considerate women, who try and understand the problem of every woman--working or not working. it takes courage to put the problems of the women in an analytical framework and understand why do women have to bear the brunt of male discrimination. in ur case too, a feminist would have tried to figure out why do u have to put up with bad experiences coz the men u were dealing with had bad experiences with other women.

Most Republicans do consider in identical pay for identical paintings, however there are legislation at the books to preclude discrimination that are meant to be enforced. It is gloomy that Miss Lilly did not recognise approximately the statue of boundaries, however so much folks have not studied regulation. She need to have saved to herself & in no way requested a coworker in the event that they obtained a lift, or regarded on the pay fee record. If she used to be union (well hazard she used to be when you consider that many Goodyear crops are union), she will have to have talked to her union steward, for the duration of or after each agreement negotations. Most humans who wish the identical rights modification maintain forgetting that almost all females have responsibilities except paintings, corresponding to youngsters, getting older mothers and fathers, and so on. It does not cause them to much less of a employee, simply no longer as to be had as so much male opposite numbers.

No.
A feminist must have a much grander perspective on things which you may or may not have. I have insufficient information at this time.

One thing to note, feminists (by a dictionary definition of course) want to break down stereotypes as one step to equality.

There is nothing wrong with being a feminist. Female workers in male dominated jobs such as construction frequently earn the say pay as men. But not always. However in professional situations and in office work in general women do not make as much as men. This doesn't mean they don't work as hard, or harder. This means they are being discriminated against. Don't have such an attitude against other women who are not as fortunate as you.

Obviously you care very much about equal pay, so yes, that would give you some points on the feminist scale. But we already know that you are. And you work in construction, and you're a woman! Holy crap!

You can work and earn the same pay as your male co workers. From what i am reading( about what you say) you apparently are conducting yourself like a lady and the men respect you for this. I am glad you brought this subjuect up.(spelling?) Feminists are gals who dont act nice. I dont think you are a feminist. :)

We know you're a feminist.

It still depends on how you are "trying to show other gals to see how to do this". I've had enough of your semantic manipulation.

Before it was "all I want is equal pay and choice what's wrong with that" I pointed out that you HAVE equal pay and I see you're still lying about not having it. I also pointed out you want choice for women only, leaving men without equal reproductive rights which I'm not sure if you're going to shut up about either.

We're still lying like crazy about the equal pay thing though I see. Admit it you weren't doing the same job as the men whose salary you are comparing yours to.

They don't have to do anything special to "get equal pay" compared to what a man has to do, so yeah you're a feminist, a typical one, which apparently my "generalisations" about are spot on. You're filling their heads with lies.

NOTHING CAN LEGITIMIZE YOUR HATE MOVEMENT OKAY?!

Yes you are a feminist if you acutally believe you deserve the same equal pay in oh let's say as a jackhammer operator and or other hard labor in which your body is not naturally fit.
