No I wouldn't name him Charley but I would consider Charles and then call him Charley.
If you name him Charley he will have to spend the rest of his life explaining to everyone that his name isn't Charles, it's Charley. It's too big a mess and why would you stick your own kid with a lifetime of having to explain his name to friends, employers, government, and on and on....

I don't want kids. But if I did have a kid I wouldn't name him Charley. Not that I don't like the name, but I have names picked out in case I ever change my mind.... I like Nathaniel, Patrick, Owen, and Ethan

Nothing wrong with it. There was a hurricane Charley that hit Florida a few years ago.

no, i think charley sounds old. it's also the name of the son in the movie "Unfaithful" with Diane Lane and Richard Gere. I'm sorry, but realistically, why would you put such an ugly kid to play the son of such two beautiful people?

For a girl it's sexy, for a boy, it's nice and normal.
My next girl is gonna be a Charley.

I know a boy named Charlie. People remember him. His name is fun to say and they are always interested in what he is up to. I like the name. But it would not be a name I would be likely to use. I like stronger sounding names.

My cousins name is Charlie. If I did name my child that I would use that traditional spelling of the name because it would be easier when he/she went to school and professionally later in life.
