Uh, yeah...BESIDES the fact that it is well..technically..Illegal...
There are a couple things that make this a definate No-No!
For starters, as someone above mentioned, before prescribing birth control, a Doctor or R.N. will do a full physical and gynological exam. They also ask questions regarding your physical safety, with the person you are active with.
They go over other preventative measures for keeping your self healthy and STD-Free, as well as making sure the pill is effective for birth control.
There is also some occasions where the prescribed birth control type is wrong for a certain person. For example, the patch is only effective for people in a certain weight group. While on the other hand, some people get into serious depression or very unhealthy PMS symptoms with Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, when OTC-Low or Yaz works great for them.
All in all, its a serious risk, NOT WORTH TAKING!
Just talk to your boyfriend and ask him to wait just a tiny bit longer. And of course theirs alternatives to actual intercourse.
Its worth the doctors appt!

No it is not safe. You should never take medication that was prescribed for someone else. What if you have a severe reaction to the type she is on. You doc needs to examine you first and then decide if birth control is appropriate for you. You may have some medical condition that would prevent you from being allowed to use the pill.

There's a reason you have to visit the doctor before you get a prescription. They need to do a physical and check you out to make sure that the risks of the birth control pills don't outweigh the benefits, and which birth control pill is right for you (if any.) Your mom should know better...

No its not safe, you should talk to your doctor about birth control and he or she can decide which type of pills for you to try.
Even IF they are the same as your mother takes, do not take her birth control pills.
If this is for sexual purposes, use a condom till you get your pills. If its to regulate your period, just be patient :)

is she on the same pill as you? no? well then why bother because your body needs a few weeks to adjust to them before the pill is effective anyways. Plus that type of pill could be dangerous for you
call the dr make the appt and ask them to call you in one more month of pills to get you to that appt

Absolutely NOT for one thing the dose would be wrong for your body and you could have a bad reaction or at very least get pregnant on them. Go to a free clinic and get an emergency pack.

i wouldnt because there are different kinda depending on what you need it for... different hormone levels, etc. and there is obviously a reason why an appointement is necessary in the first place and they aren't over the counter.
