I guess I was emo, before emo was really a concept, and my parents were incredibly great about it - they looked at all of it as a phase: never judged me, shared a couple of baffled looks between themselves, and actually made fun of me now and again. As an adult, I totally appreciate it now! And I think that's what helped me grow out of it. Everything was "so tragic" at the moment, and "that's why I shaved the left side of my head...", whereas my Mom told their friends (laughing), "Oh, she just had to have brain surgery!"
LOVE my parents and their wicked sense of humor!
:D
And would love to think that I would deal with an emo monster with just as much grace as they did.

My eldest daughter to some people would be classed as being emo by the way she dresses,music she listens to,the way she styles her hair(her fringe is bright red this week),but I don't mind because she is a wonderful happy go lucky person and I am glad that shes my daughter and wouldn't change her for the world.

I'd get a funky hairdo and start trying to be emo. It's not cool when mom does it. He'd go back to just being moody and a normal kid. Hubby would probably spank him to show what "real emos" go through.

y the hell would u give your kid up 4 adoption just bdause hes or she is emo. thats messed up. its fine to be emo up to a piont no good in kicking them or torturing them. thats in human. emo is kida kool i guess lol. but not when u get suicdal.

I'd show them what real pain is all about. I would find lots of chores for them to do, so they would have reasons to cry. I'd show them some third world pictures to let them see what real pain is about.
