The processor is good enough.
Add more RAM. 512 or 1gb would be great.
Put in a 7200rpm Hard drive and a good video card (like the nvidia 6600GT)
Enjoy

Lol um thats.......sucks
Seriously 192 ram thats nothing, i have 4GB of DDR2 ram.
You really need a upgrade. If you want a PC for games well that PC wont do you any good. Even for many of the latest program require you to have 250+ mb of ram, i bet you would run most programs slow.
For 1grand you can buy a nice PC, save up and buy one.

Here is the thing ... I have that same computer as yours but I have 512 of Ram which is better but not the best … no body can tell you if it’s good or not because we don’t know what are you using it for like for games you have to increase the Ram and to get a “good” VGA card (video card) like at least 128 or 256 but still I believe P4 1.7 MHz is good but has to be changed

It's pretty much obsolete. the CPU is nearing the LOW LOW end, and 192 MB of RAM is nothing. although windows XP will run on 256 MB, you really need a MINIMUM of 512 MB. I recommend 1 GB (or 1024 MB) and up! Actually, what I really recommend is buying a new computer.

it really depends what you intend to do with your PC. like if you were to install the latest windows operating system, Vista - then NO its not good.
If you watch/edit/record videos then its not good *enough*.
If you create some serious documents and stuff and then its not good *enough* also.
If your PC is just too slow try to upgrade RAM for cheaper (to say 1GB). By the way, i don't know what is this "192" for RAM. It can't be 192MB (its too low).

Except for the small RAM, it is still good enough for Win XP and many apps. Upgrade to 512Mb RAM and you should be fine, 1Gb should be great. RAM is cheap nowadays but maybe not for long. With a good graphics card, you can even expand usage to games.

It's outdated. It can mostly handle Windows 98, nothing more than that. Better sell it, and buy a new one with at least
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.40 GHz
512MB RAM
40 / 80 GB hard disk.
You can comfortably run Windows XP on it. To use Vista, you have to get a power pack, with no less than 1GB of RAM.

Depends on what you plan to do with it. General business, school, and internet applications will work great...actually it's more than enough. Heavy graphics and video editing, and gaming might need more....but I don't know what graphics card you have.
If it's just for personal and regular use and some casual gaming, it looks fine. Maybe you can add more RAM.
XP should work fine too. Don't use Vista.
