It's pointless.
So no one buys gas for a day. Those who need it will buy the day before or the day after. It all comes out in the wash.
All anyone will be doing is giving the big wigs that run the oil companies a good hearty laugh.

And I'm paying $3.38 outside Chicago. It's expected to go up to $4 this summer and has risen $.20 in 2 days.
If you really want to stick it to the oil companies, use public transportation, ride your bike, walk, carpool, buy a more fuel efficient car... just think before you drive ANYWHERE.

Morningstar... I feel your theory is flawed. So they loose $3 billion that day. They will more than make it up by having a spike in sales the day before or the day after.

Umm...Here in OZ we pay about $1.25/Litre which roughly means we pay about $7.00/Gallon. I agree with u, they will still make there money elsewhere. The only way it will end is when the fossill fuels run dry.And then what?

The boycott is stupid, there is not any differance if I top off at present the next day, or whilst every time, by fact ultimately i choose gas to circulate to paintings, p.c.. up youngsters, etc. it relatively is referred to as existence, left wing nuts. furnish and demand, the Oil agencies are gonna get our money ultimately, so it makes no differance which day you fill. All you human beings asserting i will top off at present or the sixteenth what's the differance? maximum persons do no longer choose gas accepted, maximum top off as quickly as each week or two times relies upon on your job and what's occurring. in case you Nuts intend to make a differance than set the occasion, journey your motorcycle to paintings, use the T-prepare in case you have one on your city, positioned wind farms on the coast of Cape Cod the place I stay, to boost skill on our section and much less on oil and gas however the great HYPROCITES LIKE TED KENNEDY, JOHN KERRY AND Liberal friends do no longer choose that, enable's end human beings like Al Gore flying on inner maximum Jets. I propose we are able to do alot lots extra and a sometime gas out is stupid. The Oil agencies gets you ultimately it relatively is referred to as furnish and demand.

Not necessarily true. It doesn't matter if you buy it the day before or after. One day could potentially cost them 3 billion dollars. It will affect them, especially if we start doing it more often, combining it with more use of public transportation.

Possibly, but if I can remember, I'm going to avoid buying gas that day and stay home if possible. At this point what have I got to lose.

Yes, it is. I checked it out on snopes.com when I received an e-mail to do that.

People complain about the price of gas, but I don't think many will do the alternative.

It might be pointless but it gets everybody together to do something. How often does that happen?
