Depeche Mode made the 80's what they were, and are still here today creating albums. That right there says a lot. Duran Duran was good as well.... But Hands Down Depeche Mode, they are even better in concert!!!

I've seen a few questions about the 80's lately, is it a nostalgic thing? There was some great music from the 80's and NOT what was on the radio then which is crap in any decade! These are just a few gems that were heavy favorites;
Black Uhuru
Elvis Costello
Graham Parker
Hoodoo Gurus
Hüsker Dü (still a Bob Mould fan)
Johnny Thunders
Midnight Oil
Naked Raygun
Nash The Slash
Steel Pulse
The Alarm
The Blasters (still a Dave Alvin fan)
The Clash
The Feelies
The Gun Club
The Mighty Diamonds
The Pixies (still a Frank Black fan)
The Smithereens
The Suburbs
The Toasters
Translator
UB40
XTC

Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Tears for Fears used to be my favorite - the first two bands I don't listen to anymore, but Tears for Fears music continue to be a favorite of mine until now.
