no it does not bother me i see it every day, when children don't get what they want the throw a tantrum, the only way to stop it is to give them what they want, and all that does is encourage them, the best way is to ignore them and let them learn that they do not get what they want by throwing tantrums. unfortunately parents give into them and they learn that they can get their way by acting out. and it carries into adulthood.

It doesn't bother me. I understand that the kid just wants a bit of attention, and has decided to use that method to get it. They can be frustrating, but it's part of life. I'll admit a few of the kids have really put out a good tantrum, with arms flailing and legs kicking and their head banging on the floor. Quite the show.
The proper response is to ignore the child, though a lot of folks will try to correct the mother who does it. The kid will learn quickly that if they want to be with mother, tantrums are not permitted.
If you immediately try to comfort the child, then it will convince them to have more tantrums, which is counterproductive.
Basically, when I see a kid having a tantrum I chat with the (often quite nervous) mother and walk a little ways with her (we keep a close eye on the kid but don't look directly at him or her). Usually the tantrum ends before we move 5 feet, one really tough lad lasted 12 feet. Steping over the child as if nothing was going on is another eye opener for them.

it doesn't annoy me. the only thing that would annoy me is how the parent responds. if they try to reason with a 2-5 year old, i get annoyed. if the give in to the tantrum, i get annoyed. really, the parent should just pick up the kid and leave. that's what i'd do. not to avoid humiliation, but because the child needs to learn that type of behavior will no lead to getting their way.

i feel for the parents, some children Need Discipline badly.
while others may just be having a bad day.
Say, a single dad is out with his disabled daughter, she has a fever & has been throwing up X2hrs. not feeling well, crying, but they are out of childrens tylenol & motrin. He trekks out with her in tow (because mom was killed by a drunk driver when she was 8 days old). Now, is he a bad parent because his child is in discomfort?
but its funny how some of my acquaintance's were soooo critical of other's children acting up... but once their children came along, WoW; talk about screaming brats.

Not if the parents are trying to take care of things, it doesn't. I know that babies cry a lot.
What DOES upset me is to be in a cafe or someplace having lunch, and a baby starts fussing. You know, the kind of cry that's saying "Mommy, I am so tired! I want to go and have my nap now, please." (every Mommy knows how unpleasant THAT cry is.) And Mommy is just sitting there with a couple of girlfriends, laughing and talking, and just ignoring that poor baby.
Yeah. That irritates me a lot.

it annoys me!!!! A LOT! but if i see that the mom is at least trying to stop it, then it doesnt annoy me as much. But if the mom is just day dreaming or talking on the phone or something, and the kid is screaming and crying then it REALLY annoys me!!

I really do not like anyone even kids throwing a tantrum. Kids who are secured and know how to conduct themselves via early childhood mannerism will never result to throwing tantrums in public places. There are places for every thing. If it is a public place, it calls for considerations to others.I will try not to get myself annoyed by getting out of there fast but honestly,I definitely will not stay around and watch the show. Tantrums are just unbecoming and inconsiderate way of seeking attentions when it demands it. That is so selfish and rude.

I have been in that situation, and it makes me sorry for the parent. Usually, the parent has no choice but to be there, they need something, and there is only a certain amount of control you can have over a toddler.....they sure have minds of their own.

If I see the baby's parents/guardians making an effort to stop it then I won't be annoyed too much, that's what kids do..
