I don't like the way he handles coming back to pitch and I hope he finally retires after this year. As great as he his 28M for one year is crazy even with it being pro-rated. Its just another sign of the Boss trying to buy a championship. You think they would of learned by now that they need to develope starters and not just throw money at them. Clemens will help a lot, but it looks like a move of desperation and more than likely a waste of money for a flawed team. He can't save the bullpen and only pitches every 5 days....they still need more even when everyone comes back.

I thought he may sign with Boston, but just like George I knew he'd try to buy a championship ring to save Torre's job.. Clemens is a 1st ballot hall of famer with 348 wins and over 4000k's but hes over 40 years old and lets face it hes not the Rocket he was back in the 80s and 90's... I'll give him 5-10 wins if he gets more run support. In his 19 starts last year he was 7-6. His Astros team scored less then 3.5 runs a game when he pitched, and that was Bagwell, Biggio, and Berkman... How will the Yankees do when Jeter and A-Rod play? Im all for good pitching beats good hitting anyday, but roger is too old.. he should have retired.. I cant wait another year longer (now 2014 if he retires in 2008) to see him inducted in Cooperstown.

Who cares. Michael Jordan, oh I mean Roger Clemens, will not help the Yankees win the WS.

I think it's a waste of the Yankees money, so I'm all for it, ;)
Seriously, I don't think he'll contribute all that much. A guy who pitches 5, 5.5 innings? He's going to cost more than the 28 mil because the Yanks are going to be needing more solid middle-relief pitchers. They'd have been better off going for a good pitcher who can go deep into the game, IMESHO

He had to. His contract with Houston would not let him sign with anyone in the N.L., so he had to go back to the team with the money. But as said by other's, desperation by the team, won't help them. They will not make the play-offs this year.

Took the worst of his four self-proclaimed options:

1. sign with Houston
2. sign with Boston
3. stay retired
4. sign with Noo Yawk

Nice to have him back, though, even under these dark circumstances.

I think he will help their pitching-starving team a lot.
