ok...a lot of people think i sing good...but when i record it with my mic on my computer...it sounds retarded...i dont know why.
when i sing to myself it sounds pretty good and normal ....but when i recorded and i listen it sounds not like my voice and sounds pretty bad lol whhhhyyyyyy?????

Maybe others are lying to you... You don't hear yourself the same as other people do. In fact, a reliable sound recording is more trustworthy than your hearing when your own voice is concerned. However there is a possibility that you have a bad mic...

Most people do not like to hear their own voice when it is recorded. That is often because it sounds real different from what you hear when you are speaking.
On top of that may you have been really self conscious when you made that recording, so you may not have sung as you would have done otherwise.
Just go on making recordings, till you are feeling confident about singing in the mike, and till you are used to hearing your own voice.
Then you can start to improve by listening critically.
If you are in doubt about the mike, ask a good friend to compare the recording to your singing voice, but do not do that till you think you sing the same as without the recording.

I rarely go chat rooms, but last time i was there a girl sang and i heard it on my speaker. Try singing and if i hear it, i will let you know. It could be your computer. If you like singing, go along to a Karaoke night. It is fun, and nobody puts anyone down, as they are all there to try to find out if they can sing well.

I think i sound good aswell when i dont record it. but when i do record it i sound terrible. if you have a phone then record your voice off there and then compare it to the one you recorded off your computer. if the phone one sounds better then u know its just your computer which is making it sound bad, but if they sound the same then u should tell the people who told u that u sound good 'why did u lie to me?'
