Assuming you mean as a guest, then in-between. Just enough of a buzz on to make sure you'll get up and dance - nothing worse than a crowd of people sitting around looking uncomfortable for 3 hours. But never ever so plastered that you'll do something to ruin it for others.

When younger, I would have probably totally taken advantage of the open bar, especially since most weddings I attend are for family and they are always overnighters. I would have had some cousin act as my designated driver and drive me a short distance to my hotel. All my family lives out of state. Now that I am a little older and raising my young grandsons, I would still enjoy the open bar "some", but would be able to drive myself to the hotel. :o)

At the wedding part, I'm sober. At the reception, I have a few drinks & maintain a pleasant buzz, but don't get plastered. Too many people embarrass themselves by getting drunk at weddings.

Pleasantly tipsy is the way to go, I think. Being plastered will ruin the day for everyone who has to deal with you since most people, when that drunk, will cause a scene and perhaps even get ill. However, weddings can be a bit dull and depressing for some, so being a bit tipsy doesn't hurt. :-)

I would say in between. Plastered, you might make an *** of yourself and be the laughing stock forever with your family especially if they took pictures or worse video taped you. I'm saying this cus my friend is living that life and I CAN'T let it go so I can imagine her family. Sober. eh... it depends if you want to be bored all night lol jk. That's why I say in between you'll be drunk off your butt enjoying it with confidence but not so drunk to regret some things.

Depends - if you are in the wedding you should probably be sober until the reception starts. If you are the bride or groom... definitely sober. Think of how stupid you'll look talking like an idiot to all of your friends and family. If you are just a guest - it depends. I firmly believe that you should pay back your friends if they are always the drunk idiot by being the drunk idiot at their wedding!

It really depends on what your "place" is.
Groom: stone-cold sober
Bride: only slightly tipsy
Bridesmaids, married: drunk, if their husbands are OK
Bridesmaids, single: slightly to moderately drunk
Groomsmen, married: drunk if their wives are OK
Groomsmen, single: drunk as Cooter Brown
FOB: having a good time
MOB: Tipsy enough to be teary-eyed, but not crying
Exes of the bride: Stone cold sober with sad faces
Exes of the groom: Completely hammered; mascara running down their face, missing one shoe & muttering randomly
Guests: Drunk enough to Bunny-hop, electric slide and sing along to "Shout"

Sober. Weddings are occassions that people will be talking about for years to come, and as those people are family and I (unfortunately!) can't avoid them for the rest of my life, I'd rather not risk doing something while schnockered that they'll never, ever let me forget.
