I live in Canada and my boyfriend is an immigrant from Cameroon. His papers are soon to expire, and he feels the only way to keep him in the country is for us to get married. He's 27 and I'm 21. He hates me because I won't marry. And I feel horrible that I'm about to lose him. I feel like I am in a lose-lose situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can't marry him if you are not ready.....sounds smart to me....are you sure he wasn't just looking for someone to marry so he could stay......if it's love, you won't lose him, he'll go back to Cameroon and keep in touch until he can go back to canada to see you again......
You sound like a 21 year old that has her head on straight....don't let him talk you into something or manipulate you into doing something you don't want to do.

If you don't want to marry don't. There has to be another way for him to stay and he shouldn't be mad at you for not getting married to him. Really if he understands marriage. You love him, thats fine, but don't marry him out of guilt. If he goes home to Cameroon then there has to be a way for him to be able to come back.

You do no that is a scam, you have thousands of immigrants
coming from all around the world each year trying to get some young naive girl like yourself to marry them.I no you don't want to believe this but all you have to do is check into it and you will see just how bad it is.

Marry him because you love him and want to spend the rest of your life making him happy. Do not marry him out of his desperation to stay in Canada.
Once he's a citizen, he'll up and leave and you'll be left alone.
My advise is to let him go back where he came from and let him continue hating you. You do not need a user in your life.

Does he want to marry u for his papers or because he loves u. and if u do decide to marry him make sure it's the right thing for u not him.

If this man really loved you, he would not pressure you to marry him. He seems selfish and desperate to stay in Canada.
You would be well advised to say good bye to this man, whether he stays in Canada or not.

Check the immigration rules. I heard the rule of a Canadian man marrying a non-citizen is different than a Canadian woman doing so.
If he thinks you owe it to him, then it is a rotten start. He doesn't want to beg so he resents it.

well i think that you have to think about this really good i mean are you not ready to marry or is it that you feel your relationship is not as deep or strong to take that step forget about the papers if you don't think is a good idea then don't do it.
