All my friends who have been to Japan have always commented that Japanese girls' hairs always smell really good, even if the girls have been out the entire day.
I know its not the shampoo coz the smell of shampoo cant possibly stay on the entire day.
I wonder if they use an hairspray to keep their hair smelling good all day? I heard of hair perfume, but some of them can be quite drying isnt it?

If so, does anyone has any brands to recommend me coz im going over to Japan for a short holiday.

♡There are MANY types of hair 'cologne/fragrance' available here in Japan. It'll be EASY for you to find at any drug store, convenience store, super market...when you get here. Many of them clearly say HAIR COLOGNE/FRAGRANCE on them. (Look closely!-see my second pic?)
Here are two types I'm currently using:
'SALA' hair cologne and 'Baby Veil' hair fragrance:

They usually have testers at the store so you can choose your favorite scent. I like the florals best. You can see they have various sizes. I use the purse size most, easy to carry when I'm out all day. (I have long hair!)
Hope this helps!
Have a GREAT time here in Japan!♡
~☆BTW, I haven't had any experience with it drying out my hair, but it may depend on your individual hair type. A light spray usually does it for me all day! Also, a few shampoo lines have the whole hair care system- from shampoo, conditioner, treatment, hair cologne...
~I'm prepping my bag to go out to work now and I found one more 'Pakira' hair cologne:

It smells like PEACH- yummy! As far as I know, they have no expiration date on them....
☆NOTE liu, the above mentioned are NOT hair sprays in the sense that they hold a set hair style. They are just 'spray on' scents to make the hair smell nice. They do not leave the hair stiff or hard or set. 'Hair spray' is a whole 'nother product. These say 'hair cologne', 'hair fragrance'...

Japanese Hair Spray

I had Japanese hair Straightening done about 7 months ago and I can tell you that your hair will definitely get back it's thickness/volume over time. I originally had really thick curly/wavy hair but right after I had the straightening done, it was stick straight and felt really thin/limp. After a few days it did get a little thicker and about 2 months after having the straightening done, I had practically gotten all the thickness/volume back. The only difference was that now it was thick and straight and absolutely gorgeous! To this day it is still relatively straight, although it seems to be wanting to wave in humid weather, something it definitely didn't do right after the straightening. So just give it a few days and definitely do not touch or wet it yet. If you mess with it now you could get creases in your hair and ruin the straightening. Just be patient, and realize that your hair will get back it's volume. Then it will look gorgeous and you'll get tons of compliments! :)

Actually, I don't think it is as much "Hair Spray" as it is hair conditioner. When I look at Japanese womens hair it is not stiff and brittle as hair spray would stereotypically make it. It is soft and flowing. Their conditioners are great and the smell lasts a long time.

Spread the news!
