Not just chrome, but a over abundance of it.
"Forward look"? Is that a synonym for futurism? Because that's the most significant factor in 50's design..."Space Age".

The Jet aircraft. That's why a lot of the 50's cars had tailfins. They wanted the cars to look fast and modern. This lasted until the early 60's and then it started to change again. Performance was still the key, and engines grew in size and power. In 1964, the Pontiac GTO came out and this was the start of the muscle car craze. good luck

1., they started to get rid of the bulky look and look more aerodynamic, they put the fins on the cars so they would look more futuristic. Good luck
