I airbrush ALL my models in one way or another !!

I bought a dozen Gundam PG models in 1998 to teach an elementary modelling class (not everyone likes airplanes and armor) and I was IMPRESSED !!

Because it was an elementary class (11-15 yr olds) we used Tamiya Acrylics with Badger double-action internal mix airbrushes.

My PERSONAL preference when airbrushing is to do the BASE colors on the sprue... this is particularly effective with kits like the RX-78 GP01/fb. Then I assemble the parts, cleaning seams and doing touch-up paint.

I "weather" the models with a mix of my airbrush and soft-brushes with pastel chalks. Buy a booklet on "airbrushing models" at a hobby shop, OR buy a copy of "Fine Scale Modeller" to learn some of these techniques.

The models looked terrific (built by the kids)... so good I went and bought two for my own collection.

i go with the regular acryllic paints.

gundam models come designed for gundam pens: bandai-made acryllic paint pens with the correct mixes of colour, and those tiny nooks and crannies.

I don't becasue I am afraid to sacrifice any to a crappy job I might do :-\. But it just looks so good, maybe someday when I have time I will figure it out, but for now I don't do it.
