My spouse wants to name our new born baby "Sinki" I think that would be a really weird name for our son. Maybe she'll change her mind if enough people can convince her. Please help. I dont like Sinki. I want to name him Choot, which means "New Hope" in my mothertongue. Sinki doesnt mean anything

Sinki sounds just as bad as Choot. Sorry, just giving you my opinion.

Make a heart to heart talk to your wife to justify your intention but not necessarily insisting your choice as some mentioned the meaning of choot or sinky. Your child deserves respect and choosing the appropriate name that will identify her is very important to his or her success. Whta is important is that when you gave him/her a name, you know its true meaning, and do not give your child a problem of memorizing his/her name during his first day of school.

"Sinki" is something you'd name on a pet, like a cat or a goldfish. and Choot is just as bad. I'm just saying, 'coz there may be a possibility of discrimination in the future.

I could just hear the other kids say, "Stinky Sinki!" I would come up with other names and ask her to pick her favorite. You should both agree on a name or you might feel spiteful down the road.

i honestly don't care for either. but if your culture is important to you then use the name choot. don't use a strange name that doesn't mean anything like sinki. good luck names are hard, but important, they say alot about you often before people see you they see your name. make sure to pick one that will help your baby and not hurt it.

what is you monther tongue? Dont get this wrong but "sinki" sounds very close like "stinky"...so it will be very funny if your boy goes in US. I think personally that Martin is a good name for a boy. And its international as well.
By the way, why don't you ask the baby for his opinuon??? :)))) At the end thats his name right?? :))))

Good luck :)

i realized everybody contain Safari (as in Jungle Safari, in Africa, with wide animals!) in a checklist of accessible toddler lady names yeserday. Ouch. Thats merely insane. LOL. and that i experience the above positioned up, without project 80 5% of the names persons come out with on indexed indexed right here are stupid, made up, spelled completely unsuitable (on purpose) or a mix thereof! LOL

naming a child is not as ez as ABC. but to me both name doesnt sounds nice. besides thinking abt the meaning whether in ur mothertongue or in an english dictionary, naming it & pronouncing it makes a difference. i've always believed that naming a child would mould the child characteristic when he grew up. my suggestion is that u both sit down & refer to books, maybe that will help u better..wish you the best...
