Successful actors make royalties for YEARS while their movies go to every cable station on the planet. An album comes and goes in a matter of months. SAG (Screen Actors Guild) sets high rates and enforces them stringently. Although musicians have a Guild, songwriters and artists don't have one that sets rates and enforces them. So I'd rather be Johnny Depp this past few years than and old group. NO Group gets a million bucks or more for an album BEFORE they even make it, like actors do.
;)

An actor of course. All rockstars want to be in the movies. The majority of actors in the movies, don't have to do live shows. Being a rockstar seems like really hard work. You have to know how to sing, dance, as well as act all at the same time. Actor in answer to all of your questions.

I think actor has a better shelf life. Musicians must re-invent themselves to stay current, otherwise they get stale. Actors can re-invent themselves with every new role.
And I'm pretty sure they get paid better.
Musicians are probably more creative as a whole, but I'm not sure about that.

They're both the same.
The one with the money is the one who creates and markets them.
Fame sucks. Money rules.
Be a manager and producer. And get a law degree while you're at it. And ten years from now, don't forget the advice of ol' Boomer Wisdom...

Actor because once you prove yourself you will always have work.... look at Jack Nicolson .. but as a rock start you have to keep proving yourself with every album and thats not easy by any means... look at Michael Jackson

Actor, definitely. You get more money for sure (including fabulous royalties for years from your work, if you're successful) and, in my opinion, it's just better all around... both are tough careers and draining in their own ways but in the end the money difference would make it worth it. ;)
